Skin Prick Testing
- Identifies common indoor, outdoor and certain food allergies
- Same-day results
- Suitable for minors
Skin prick testing detects allergies to a variety of environmental and food allergens. A small amount of each allergen is applied to the skin to pinpoint those that may be triggering your symptoms. After meeting with a Nectar provider and discussing your clinical history and symptoms, your provider will recommend which allergens to test for.
Skin prick testing is for children and adults with suspected allergies to pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold, or certain foods, as well as those with unexplained symptoms like sneezing, itching, hives, or congestion. It’s also used to confirm allergen sensitivities for people considering immunotherapy.

Stay off antihistamines for a week
