Bahia grass was originally found in Central and South America (Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina). It currently exists in most of the world, including the temperate and subtropical regions of North America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Within the United States, it is found in the Southeast, South Central, and Southwest.
